NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes live text for the weekend matchups on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on designated networks covering another key matchup (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the NFL season , after last week's discussion about two top teams being possible championship contenders, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games were the number of penalties both committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period against the Denver Broncos, who play overseas this Sunday.

However it was good to see how Denver quarterback Bo Nix was able to have the shortfall before lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They are first in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and the Broncos prevailed in that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They did not always rushing more than four pass rushers instead they might position two LBs in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel from the outside.

At the start of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos could be this season's dark horses. They ended the previous year strongly then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?

Recently acquired tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and new running back their rusher is a player they believe in. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (over 400) and tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).

I love that head coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently on his call sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos are a squad aiming to run first, because one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while maintains in positive situations.

This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who entered into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have powerful arms to pass anywhere, but they don't move the mobility as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, being able to pass while moving, as well as using different arm angles to deliver throws when he rolls out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He can throw precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He has sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

When you consistently rush it eats up time and makes the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must cover the field downfield and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and it seems the coach likes that attitude, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's kind of like play-dough. The coach can really develop him how he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a championship and has surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is largely due to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the combination with the QB aids shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet are they good enough to face a top squad at its best? Since that was not championship-level play by the Eagles in their last game.

Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're working better than most, which is a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They excel at embracing their strength, which is the ground game, and that's precisely what they should do versus the Jets in London. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, essentially.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win a game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver face a manageable slate until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at their division, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could make a run for the top of the division.

This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
