Young golfer preparing for major competition

The rising star has considerable social media following

The young golfer will have plenty of high-profile supporters when she makes her LPGA debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to Donald Trump, received a special exemption to compete at the Annika competition in the Sunshine State.

The former president, a passionate golfer, operates multiple golf courses and frequently matches against his granddaughter.

"He's quite skilled. I shouldn't elaborate but we play some close matches," she mentioned.

She mentioned that her grandfather, who cannot attend, told her: "Simply don't get nervous."

"He practically suggested to compete and relax," she continued.

"From my perspective, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending this weekend. He's busy with running the country, making him quite busy."

As an amateur, Kai has played in just three tournaments this year and holds position 461 in AJGA rankings.

But she can seek guidance from golf legend, in a relationship with her mother.

"He represents the greatest golfer globally," Kai stated.

"Furthermore, he's an even better individual. He told me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to whatever happens."

Kai will face several the biggest names in the sport at this tournament, featuring world number two the champion, British Charley Hull, professional Thompson and 2023 champion Lilia Vu.

The LPGA commented that Kai's presence exposes golf to different demographics, especially reaching youth audiences.

The young star boasts millions of followers and just introduced an exclusive apparel and wellness brand.

The competition starts at 17:30 GMT.
