Tributes Flow for Rob and Michele Reiner as Medical Examiner's Findings Are Sealed.

More than two weeks subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Recalls His Director

Sharing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's beloved 1987 film *The Princess Bride*, explained he just recently felt able to express about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can at last express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, saying that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "Once we started spending more time together I realized this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared behind-the-scenes footage from the production, remarking that he cannot recall "a single day without mirth".

"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He ended with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a separate essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would command the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with his co-stars, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese noted.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Restricted

This week, a Los Angeles court official decided to prevent the publication of the Reiners' medical examiner's reports, following a petition from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A legal directive issued a embargo on the files to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The Medical Examiner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of homicide, with a record listing the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Aftermath and Reactions

After the deaths, public figures offered varying responses.

Former President Donald Trump commented on the matter, making controversial statements that were met with immediate backlash by numerous public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the those speaking out recently. Conversing on his show, Rogan characterized the statements as "disappointing" and suggested they demonstrated a concerning lack of empathy.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an aide should have intervened when the impulse to weigh in on the death was made.
