Toronto Blue Jays Earn Fall Classic Meeting With Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

The outfielder previously helped the Houston Astros securing the championship in 2017.

Canada's MLB team reached their first Fall Classic after 1993 by overcoming the Mariners in the final Game 7 of the ALCS.

Behind by two runs, Springer hit a three-run blast in the seventh, propelling the only Canadian franchise in Major League Baseball to a four games to three win in the best-of-seven series. Next up are the Los Angeles Dodgers, the team that is the reigning title, in the upcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for our team, our city, our country," Springer stated, an integral part of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 World Series. "What an unbelievable moment."

The veteran has now slugged 23 October home runs, making him third in history behind Ramirez (twenty-nine) and Jose Altuve (twenty-seven).

"There's probably not another person on planet Earth that I'd choose in that spot other than him with his post-season brilliance," noted Schneider.

Seattle, despite leading the early in the series, continue to be the only MLB franchise yet to make an appearance in a championship series.

Manager Dan Wilson stated "certainly that it hurts" following his side's defeat at Rogers Centre, but applauded their performance throughout the year.

"This is a unique group. It's a shame that we had to come out on the losing end of this one," he added.

Toronto claimed the championship on each of their earlier trips in 1992 and '93, and are set to host the Los Angeles in game one on the upcoming Friday.
