Waste criminals have deposited a massive amount of garbage in a rural area in Oxfordshire.
The "ecological disaster occurring in full view" is around 150m (490ft) extending and 6m (20ft) in height.
The enormous heap has been discovered in a plot of land alongside the River Cherwell near Kidlington.
Elected official brought up the problem in parliament, declaring it was "threatening an ecological catastrophe".
Protection organization stated the illegal garbage pile was established approximately a month ago by an illegal operation.
"This represents an environmental crisis developing in full view.
"Every day that goes by raises the threat of hazardous run-off getting into the aquatic network, polluting wildlife and putting at risk the health of the complete catchment.
"Environmental authorities must act promptly, not in extended periods, which is their usual response period."
A restriction order had been established by the regulatory body.
It is hard to recognize any specific bits of rubbish as it seems to have been broken up with dirt combined.
Some of the garbage from the peak of the pile has toppled and is now just five meters from the stream.
The River Cherwell is a tributary of the River Thames, which signifies it flows through Oxford before meeting the Thames.

The representative petitioned the administration for help to remove the illegal tip before it resulted in a blaze or was swept into the river system.
Speaking to MPs on Thursday, he said: "Illegal operators have dumped a massive amount of illegal synthetic materials... totaling many tons, in my constituency on a floodplain adjacent to the River Cherwell.
"Stream volumes are rising and temperature readings show that the garbage is also increasing in temperature, raising the threat of blaze.
"Environmental authorities said it has limited capabilities for compliance, that the estimated expense of disposal is higher than the entire yearly allocation of the regional government."
Environment minister commented the administration had taken over a failing recycling sector that had created an "widespread problem of unauthorized fly-tipping".
She told MPs the authority had implemented a prohibition notice to halt more entry to the location.
In a statement, the organization said it was investigating the situation and appealed for information.
It commented: "We share the citizens' concern about situations like this, which is why we intervene against those accountable for waste crime."
A recently published investigation determined efforts to tackle major environmental offenses have been "severely neglected" notwithstanding the situation growing larger and more sophisticated.
Government advisors recommended an independent "comprehensive" examination into how "widespread" environmental offenses is tackled.
