Emma Raducanu reached the third round in three of the four major tournaments this year.

Emma Raducanu from Great Britain will not compete in her final two events of the year due to a medical condition she has been fighting over the past 10 days.

The 22-year-old was due to play in events in Asia but has decided to fly home to regain her health prior to beginning plans for the 2026 season.

These plans are set to feature her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals will keep partnering again next season.

The tennis professional underwent blood pressure monitoring during her first-round match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at this week's Ningbo Open, where she lost in three sets to Zhu Lin, a Chinese wildcard in round one.

She was also playing noticeably restricted in the deciding set against Zhu owing to back discomfort that has been a concern during parts of the season.

These outcomes signaled a promising season, in which the player advanced into the international top 30 after more than three years in more than three years, ended with three successive defeats.

She held three match points before losing to Pegula in the third stage in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 victories in the current season and reached the semi-finals in Washington, but the highlight of her season was at the Miami event in March.

As Britain's top player made the last eight of the WTA 1000 event, overcoming Emma Navarro, the eighth seed en route before losing in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from the Miami event through Wimbledon, with Roig assuming the role for the US Open.

The first plan with the former trainer of Nadal was until the end of the season but the partnership will continue, with a training block pencilled in for the end of the year.

She mentioned that her three-day trial alongside Roig after Wimbledon was like a "covert operation" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

The player was close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at the first competition with Roig in Cincinnati in August.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she advanced to round three before being beaten by 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina.
